Synopsis: The Method tells the story of a New York actor who has a major film audition coming up to play a career criminal. In order to prepare for the part, he decides to try and rob a diner, so he can get a feel for what it’s like to be a “bad guy”. But in the end, he gets a lot more than he bargained for, including “robbing lessons” that translate into “acting lessons” from a career criminal who happens to be in the diner when he tries to rob it. Marlon Brando. James Dean. Robert DeNiro. They all share one thing in common. A devotion to the rigorous acting technique known as “the method”, in which performers go to extreme lengths in order to literally “become” the character. A devotion shared by a struggling New York actor. He’s gotten two callbacks for a major part in a movie. And now he’s got one more callback to nail the part of a vicious criminal.
