Synopsis:
Are you ready to believe?
Peri Tozu is a romantic drama about a young woman, Deniz, who still believes in fairy tales and a young man, Cem, who has lost all hope and expectations.
On the day Deniz’s mother dies, she asks Peter Pan to come and take her to Neverland. When Peter Pan doesn’t appear, Deniz’s best friend, Emre, makes a pact to live in the Neverland that they will create together.
This all changes when Emre, now a young man, suffers a heart attack and falls into a coma. Deniz decides to go on a journey to gather fairy dust that she believes will wake Emre. On the way, she bumps into Cem who is traveling to see his dying father. On this journey of hope, Deniz’s and Cem’s lives entwine as their relationship and the magical fairy dust are put to the test.
Peri Tozu is a story about believing, taking chances and growing up unexpectedly. The film follows Deniz’s and Cem’s lives in a parallel manner and explores how they deal with loss. Deniz, the quintessential Peter Pan, lives in a world that is full of hopeful possibilities. On the other hand, Cem guards himself, making sure that no one gets too close to him, and runs away from making decisions.
The film explores how two people who experience loss and trauma handle their problems differently. Cem’s feeling of abandonment and anger towards his father causes him to view relationships in a very heavy-hearted way. On the other hand, Deniz is an incurable optimist and lives in her make-believe world. As their worlds clash, Deniz and Cem discover the real magic is between them.
