Armless extended description (play trailer)

Synopsis:
Armless tells the story of a man who suffers from Body Integrity Identity Disorder (B.I.I.D.), a real-life psychological condition in which an individual paradoxically doesn't feel “whole” unless he loses one or more major limbs. When he leaves his wife and goes to find a doctor willing to amputate his arms, it triggers a twisted romp filled with mistaken identities, missed chances, and tragic consequences. Strange as it sounds, this real-life condition has sprung up in pop culture with increasing frequency—in episodes of Nip/Tuck and Grey’s Anatomy among others. Unlike many pop culture treatments of B.I.I.D., which aim to shock, Armless explores the metaphorical resonance of this psychological condition—as a symbol for the secrets that all of us have. This dark comedy is a quirkily funny, strangely poignant story about love, lies, marriage…and amputation.

The Pit extended description (play trailer)

Synopsis:
It’s a hard way to make an easy living.

What does the price of your clothes, your gas, your coffee have to do with a room full of screaming, running, shoving, pushing, spitting personalities speaking in code?

Everything.

“The Pit” takes us to one of the most primitive, yet highly ritualized arenas of the financial world, the floor of The New York Board of Trade. Billions of dollars of raw goods are traded daily at the NYBOT, setting the price of commodities from cotton to orange juice throughout the world. Using their own money, traders make and lose fortunes every day in this microcosm of raw capitalism. In the beginning of 2007, however, computerized trading platforms were introduced on the floor of the exchange, threatening to make this historic marketplace and way of life obsolete. “The Pit” is the story about this transformation.

Blue Gold extended description (play trailer)

Synopsis:
Global Warming is an issue of "how" we live, the water crisis is an issue of "if" we live.

On every corner of the globe, we are polluting, diverting, pumping and wasting our limited supply of fresh water at an exponential level as population and technology grows. The rampant over development of agriculture, housing and industry increase the demands for fresh water well beyond the finite supply, resulting in the desertification of the earth.

Corporate giants force developing countries to privatize their water supply for profit. Wall Street investors target desalination and mass bulk water export schemes. Corrupt governments use water for economic and political gain. Military control of water emerges and a new geopolitical map and power structure forms, setting the stage for world water wars.

"Sounds the same sweeping alarms as Inconvenient Truth, only about our dwindling water supplies." – Toronto Star

Through hallucinations, terrifying dreams and wrenching memories, the film tells a tale of magnificent battles: to create – to connect - to love - to change the world. It visualizes the drive and complexity, the heroism and agony of a great artist and a great man. The film explores the theme of an artistic mind in torment, a creative soul in despair, an exquisitely sensitive being ravaged and destroyed by cruelty, wracked by indifference and loneliness, yet desperately seeking to live, to hope, to finish his work, to find a path other than those leading to madness or death.

Spike extended description (play trailer)

Synopsis:
Spike is the monstrously mutated suitor who builds a forest lair in which he dwells for several years while awaiting the arrival of his “beauty” - a girl with whom he shares a history, and whom he has idolized his entire life.
The girl and a group of friends find themselves, by no coincidence, stranded in Spike’s forest. The Beast kidnaps his Beauty. Spike also injures her boyfriend and holds him hostage. Thus begins the girl’s quest to recover her ill-fated lover from Spike -- whether through reason, charm, coercion, or violence -- while her friends try to recover her.
Spike maneuvers through the dark tensions of a monster’s love and the depths to which a beauty may sink to evade it, arguably becoming monstrous herself. In the end, we must uncomfortably agree that, as Spike himself says, “There is always some madness in love.” Spike gives that madness life.
